Nationwide Investor Catalyst

for Healthcare Innovation

WHAT IS THE

HEALTH BRIIDGE CONSORTIUM?

The Health BRIIDGE (Bringing Research, Innovation, and Investors to Drive Growth and Equity) Consortium is an interconnected Investor Catalyst Hub and Spoke network formed to support the mission of the Advanced Research Project Agency for Health (ARPA-H).  The Hub is located in the California Bay Area to provide immediate access to the largest pool of venture capital in the world so that ARPA-H and its programs will have the resources and expertise required to accelerate delivery of innovation in healthcare and medicine for all Americans.  The Hub is connected to its Spoke network of leading health stakeholders in communities across the country and a growing ecosystem of consortium members that will provide performers with launch lab space; entrepreneurial mentorship and support; business development and networking; commercialization services; immersion experiences as well as education and training within their local communities.  Together, our consortium brings together a team of committed and proven leaders in health innovation and equity to drive forward the mission of ARPA-H by delivering new healthcare solutions with unmatched speed and scale.

What is the
Data Commons?

The Health BRIIGE Consortium (HBC) understands that data is an asset that can accelerate the national research-to-commercialization pipeline.  To maximize the value of datasets generated across ARPA-H efforts, the University of California Health Data Warehouse (UCHDW), part of the Center for Data-driven Insights and Innovation, will partner with the San Diego Supercomputer Center, globally known for its excellence in translating innovation into practice across computing, information, and data sciences, to provide the HBC Data Commons.  This combined team has the most advance data security processing, analytic, storage, and security capability available to accelerate research, inform future investments, and enable assessment of health outcomes.

Why Health BRIIDGE?

  • Unrivaled access to capabilities and support needed to bring ideas to market: Our consortium brings a mix of research centers, accelerators, startups, investors, business builders, go-to-market experts, medical schools, and healthcare leaders that touch the full lifecycle of business creation and commercialization like no other team can.
  • Purpose-built as a hub and spoke model with diverse locations: Our consortium collectively has 300+ site locations across the country. We bring locations in established and emerging health ecosystems and committed regional conveners – creating a natural hub and spoke model in operations today. This will connect resources across the country.
  • Proven dedication to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion as a key driver of innovation and health outcomes: Accelerating and investing in underrepresented founders is in our DNA, as is showcased by our consortium members Plug and Play’s minority-founder focused accelerator program, the United Negro College Fund’s (UNCF) minority accelerator programs, and our membership with the California State University system which serve some of the most diverse populations in the nation.
  • Strong consortium management: Our consortium is led by Consortium Management Group, an experienced consortium builder and manager and a leader in the use of Other Transaction Authority to deliver innovation to Government at the speed of relevance.
